In loving memory

Two Lights
We Carry Forward

Liel and Yanai Hetzroni smiling together

We are dedicating our b’not mitzvah to the memory of twins Liel and Yanai Hetzroni, who never had the opportunity to celebrate becoming b’nei mitzvah. They were killed at the age of 12 during the Hamas attack on their kibbutz, Be’eri, on October 7, 2023.

Liel and Yanai are remembered as inseparable twins and extraordinary friends who brought laughter and joy wherever they went. They were approaching their thirteenth birthday, just as we are now.

One of the themes of our Torah portion is how to kindle the lights in the lamps of our sanctuary. These verses describe the ner tamid, or eternal light, that we always keep burning in our sanctuaries. The ner tamid became our inspiration for this project and our vision for our art show, “Be the Light.” For us, the ner tamid symbolizes the light inside each and every person—a light that is timeless and can be shared. We all have the capacity to share our inner light, bringing more light into the world and into the lives of others without ever diminishing our own flames.

Through this exhibition as our mitzvah project, we hope to carry some of Liel and Yanai’s light forward and ensure that their names and their joy are remembered.

Net proceeds from artwork sales will support a cause chosen in consultation with the Hetzroni family, in loving memory of Liel and Yanai Hetzroni.

זכרם לברכהMay their memories always be a blessing.

“Our art is about spreading light—and using creativity to help others.”

Art has been part of Chloe and Gabriella Hoover-Rosenfield’s lives since early childhood—a way to enjoy, document, and share their perspective. Their creativity extends beyond the canvas into dance, while their love of reading and travel continually broadens the way they see the world. Through Art With Purpose, they are now using their artwork to help others. This collection is part of their b’not mitzvah project.
